Fashion over the last year has been involved in very strong historic influences from all decades of the 1900’s. One ofthe strongest influences for today’s fashion has been from the idyllic style of the 1940’s. Celebrating the feminine silhouette and simple structure, the waist clinching and curvaceous style has been emulated from waist belts to full line skirts to floral’s.

As the 40’s trend has already been a huge trend over the last few months it is not surprising this has developed into a more Retro Chic look. However, it seems hard to understand how to incorporate this into everyday wear. Before you step out to every vintage shop in your area, the easiest way to delicately have fun with this look is through your hosiery.

OK so festival season is upon us. Glastonbury is (almost) in full swing, with those who were lucky enough to get tickets, are now pitched up and ready to party.  Admittedly, sharing a camp site with 80,000 other people, 79,881 of them being people I don’t know, eating cans of ravioli for tea and using baby wipes to sanitise has never really appealed to me. Watching all of my favourite bands live, spending time with friends and wearing some of the most bazaar, yet utterly fabulous outifits, I have ever put together, really does appeal to me – so smelly port-a-loos for a week it is!
My favourite trend this year is socks and wellies. I love how easy it is to inject some quirky details into an outfit – I purposely bought some grey wellies knowing that the neutral colour would allow them to consistently go with every outfit, all I need to do now is buy some socks to match each dress and I’m done!!!

The fashion savvy have spoken, legs out is simply not an option!
